Job Description
This full-time, on-site Regional Vice President role is based in New York City and oversees Elastic's Financial Services strategic accounts. The group works with major banks, capital markets firms, payment companies and insurers, which are among the largest and most intricate institutions in the global economy. The posting is looking for a leader with a history of building a productive sales business, not just managing an assigned territory.
The Regional Vice President sets direction for the region and is measured on bookings, pipeline generation, account expansion, retention and forecast quality. The leader manages senior sellers and coaches them to plan several years ahead in each account. Other expectations include setting a steady cadence for account planning, pipeline reviews and forecasting, and taking a hands-on role in the most important accounts and competitive deals. The leader builds ties with CIOs, CTOs and CISOs, plus data leaders, and finds new opportunities across the company's search, security, observability and data products and AI offerings. Work involves coordination with Elastic's executives, product, engineering and partner teams, plus hyperscalers and global integrators. Regular travel is required.
Applicants should have led strong enterprise or strategic sales groups in demanding technology markets and beaten revenue targets consistently. Deep experience with financial services clients is essential, ideally with major banks, capital markets firms, payment companies or insurers, along with established links to Tier-1 institutions and a record of opening new C-suite relationships. Executive presence, a track record of creating new business, and skill in long, multi-party sales cycles are important, as is a history of hiring and developing sales talent. Bonus experience includes open source work, Global 2000 accounts and joint go-to-market efforts with cloud and integration partners. The pay mix is 60 percent base and 40 percent variable, with a typical starting base range of 170,000 to 268,800 USD, a target variable range of 113,200 to 179,100 USD and on-target earnings of 283,200 to 447,900 USD. Benefits include an employer 401k matching of one dollar for every dollar contributed, up to 6 percent of eligible earnings, and eligibility for the stock program.
