WaveStrong, Inc. is seeking a CyberArk PAM Engineer / Architect for a remote, six-month contract engagement. This position requires the specialist to operate within the Central Time Zone. The primary focus of the assignment involves deploying CyberArk Secrets Manager and seamlessly integrating it into an existing PAM and Vault ecosystem, all without requiring a complete redesign of the current vault architecture. Ideal candidates bring deep technical proficiency to prevent setup errors and project delays.
This opportunity fits professionals with extensive, hands-on technical backgrounds in privileged access management who can independently handle complex infrastructure tasks. Daily activities revolve around establishing high availability and disaster recovery frameworks, executing TLS and certificate implementations, setting up robust audit logging, and working alongside containerized environments.
The person hired will collaborate directly on DevSecOps initiatives, connecting the secrets management solution with OpenShift and Kubernetes workloads. Key duties also include establishing secure application onboarding patterns, managing service accounts and container namespaces, as well as supporting runtime secret retrieval and GitLab CI/CD secret injection workflows.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure CyberArk Secrets Manager within the current PAM and vault ecosystem
- Set up high availability and disaster recovery configurations
- Implement TLS, certificates, and audit logging
- Integrate Secrets Manager with OpenShift and Kubernetes workloads
- Manage service accounts, workload identities, namespaces, and manifests
- Support GitLab CI/CD secret injection and runtime secret retrieval
- Implement secure application onboarding patterns
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with CyberArk PAM, Vault, and integrations
- Expertise in CyberArk Secrets Manager deployment, configuration, RBAC, policy management, credential rotation, safes, CPM, and secret retrieval workflows
- Ability to work in the Central Time Zone
- Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container security
- Familiarity with automation pipelines and DevSecOps integration
