Responsibilities
- Build comprehensive 3D models in Tekla Structures for stairs, landings, railings, brackets, and structural frames
- Generate shop drawings, assembly layouts, single-part sheets, erection diagrams, and bills of materials
- Analyze structural and architectural blueprints, project instructions, and on-site measurements
- Model connections, base plates, anchors, bolts, and welds following engineering guidelines
- Coordinate steel parts alongside adjacent materials such as glass, concrete, and wood
- Detect missing details or conflicting measurements and draft requests for information
- Update models and documents to reflect approval feedback, site updates, and revision requests
- Check all deliverables for precision, completeness, and adherence to assembly rules
- Partner with project managers, engineers, and manufacturing crews throughout the detailing cycle
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of experience in steel detailing
- High proficiency utilizing Tekla Structures
- Proven background in detailing miscellaneous metals, stairs, and railings
- Prior involvement supporting construction or manufacturing projects in the United States
- Capability to independently produce fabrication packages from architectural and structural files
- Practical knowledge of fabrication processes, connection types, welding symbols, tolerances, and assembly rules
- Working knowledge of imperial measurements and domestic detailing practices
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to handle changes, stick to schedules, and coordinate during U.S. Eastern Time hours
- Portfolio displaying relevant shop drawings and Tekla models
Qualifications
- Background in high-end residential projects, exposed steel, and custom architectural metalwork
- Experience detailing structural framing elements including columns, beams, and bracing
- Familiarity working with aluminum, stainless steel, and other architectural metals
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and generating DXF or CNC/NC files for manufacturing
- Direct experience collaborating with steel fabricators to resolve shop and field inquiries
