This contract position is designed for industry professionals who can offer technical guidance and support to students progressing through a Nanodegree journey.
In this capacity, the Accelerator Mentor holds virtual weekly meetings, 1:1 sessions, activities, and deep-dive sessions with learners. The individual answers questions regarding course material, provides daily assistance over an online community forum, and helps organize community activities like webinars and technical quizzes. The role suits professionals with existing technical networks who have the flexibility in their current schedules to take on a part-time external contractor assignment.
Mentors assist in driving student progress and engagement while collaborating with forum administrators and the Mentor Operations team. Participants in this program can earn additional income while working remotely and staying connected with modern technological developments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support to learners daily through an online community forum
- Answer course content questions and assist students who experience learning roadblocks
- Collaborate with forum administrators to organize community activities, webinars, technical quizzes, and challenges
- Share extracurricular resources and news articles to enrich the personal and professional lives of community members
- Attend regular online meetings and office hours via Zoom or other platforms with company representatives
- Maintain responsiveness within closed discussion groups involving company representatives
- Stimulate learner engagement through discussions, webinars, and technical activities
- Direct students to proper support channels and escalate concerns to the Mentor Operations team
Requirements
- Speak and write fluently in English
- Possess at least four years of professional experience related to product analysis, growth strategies, experimentation, product strategy, A/B testing, funnel analysis, and related competencies
- Maintain flexibility in a current job to handle this challenge part-time as an external contractor
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Udacity Nanodegree Program
- Demonstrated experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking
- Experience organizing technical talks or webinars
- Possession of an existing tech network with experience conducting technical conversations
