Black Pen Recruitment is looking for a remote Scrum Master to provide expert services within the European Union under a business-to-business contract. The opening involves joining a company team that works closely with a major client's information technology division on-site. This position requires deep familiarity with agile principles and hands-on experience guiding product teams through complete sprint cycles. The professional chosen will coordinate activities, manage roadblocks, and collaborate with product owners to ensure effective delivery. This role suits individuals with extensive professional background in the information technology sector who hold specific agile credentials and possess strong communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
- Arrange and moderate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and planning sessions
- Partner with product owners to handle backlog management
- Coach team members and product owners on incremental delivery and empiricism
- Monitor flow metrics and assist the team in data-driven enhancement
- Identify and remove roadblocks affecting progress
- Foster empowered and self-organizing teams with a focus on psychological safety
- Enforce quality gates and organizational standards
- Communicate delivery progress and risks with other scrum masters and product owners
- Use planning and development software like Azure DevOps and Confluence
Requirements
- University degree
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in information technology
- At least 3 years working as a Scrum Master at SM2 level or higher
- Led at least 2 production teams through full sprint cycles including planning, review, retrospective, and refinement
- Implemented data-driven continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate cross-team work through Scrum-of-Scrums or Program Increment Planning events
- Knowledge of facilitation techniques, systems-thinking, and agile metrics
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps or Jira
- Fluent command of the English language
Qualifications
- PSM II certification or higher
- SAFe 5 or 6 Agilist certification
- Experience with scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS
- Knowledge of integrating SAFe and Kanban approaches
