Job Description
Butterfly Network, Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master for Software Delivery to join the Program Management Office in New York City, NY. The organization is driving advancements in ultrasound imaging and sensing through proprietary semiconductor technology, cloud software, and AI solutions, including portable ultrasound devices and enterprise workflow tools. This role focuses on facilitating and continually improving Agile execution across mobile and cloud software teams.
The position suits an experienced practitioner who can bring proven Scrum and Agile practices into an environment that is actively maturing its delivery model. Responsibilities center on managing sprint-cycle health, ensuring ceremony effectiveness, maintaining backlog health, and providing delivery-metric visibility. The chosen professional will partner closely with engineering, product management, and program management to help teams run effective ceremonies, surface risks early, and build sustainable habits that align with regulatory and design-control requirements.
This is a hybrid position based out of the New York City office, requiring attendance two or more days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without company-provided immigration sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate sprint ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives for mobile and cloud software teams
- Coach engineering, product, and technical leads on Agile and Scrum methodologies using a servant-leadership approach
- Track and report sprint-level delivery metrics such as velocity, burndown, and ceremony adherence to leadership
- Identify and track cross-team dependencies and blockers, escalating issues when necessary
- Standardize ceremony structures and delivery metric definitions across both mobile and cloud organizations
- Monitor and flag capacity risks, ceremony load, or ownership gaps proactively to the Program Management Office
Requirements
- At least five years of direct experience facilitating Agile and Scrum delivery within a software engineering environment spanning mobile and cloud teams
- Hands-on expertise utilizing Jira or equivalent tools for building dashboards and tracking metrics like velocity and burndown
- Demonstrated experience maturing Agile practices within organizations that have newly formed or inconsistent processes
- Familiarity with regulated or governance-heavy environments such as medical technology, healthtech, or fintech
- Ability to work in a hybrid schedule out of the New York City office at least two days a week
- Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
Qualifications
- Holding a formal Agile certification such as CSM, CSPO, or PMI-ACP
- Background in growth-stage or scaling engineering organizations where Agile practices were actively defined
- Prior exposure to software development lifecycle or design-control documentation in a regulated space
- Experience operating inside a matrixed organizational model without reporting directly to program management
