The organization is seeking a Security Engineer to design, operate, and enhance security controls across its cloud environment, workforce, applications, and AI integrations. In this generalist capacity, the successful candidate will own hands-on engineering tasks, articulate risk profiles to diverse stakeholders, and steer remediation efforts across various teams. This position reports directly to the Senior Security Engineer and offers an opportunity to shape secure adoption practices for emerging technologies.
This role suits practitioners with a background in cloud security engineering who are comfortable working across infrastructure, code, identity management, and vulnerability tracking. Professionals joining Vibes will collaborate closely with engineering, GRC, and IT Support units to establish secure default behaviors, manage security events, and handle access lifecycle processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and optimize security controls protecting the cloud environment, encompassing logging, identity, network architecture, and encryption
- Expand security tooling visibility so active accounts and projects report into a centralized dashboard
- Establish guardrails and secure default configurations for engineering teams
- Manage the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle from ingestion and risk prioritization to assignment and remediation tracking
- Tune detection mechanisms to minimize noise and participate in security incident response duties
- Draft, upkeep, and test incident response runbooks alongside tabletop exercises
- Oversee access management workflows including automated provisioning, group-based access, and regular reviews
- Manage security protocols for joiner, mover, and leaver procedures in coordination with GRC and IT Support
- Perform security reviews on source code and infrastructure-as-code changes prior to production deployment
- Assess the risk profile of internal and external AI tools, language models, and agent architectures
- Communicate technical risk metrics and audit evidence clearly to engineers, executives, and auditors
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of cybersecurity experience within a SaaS environment or an equivalent setting
- Practical background in security engineering for cloud architectures, with a preference for AWS
- Ability to review code and infrastructure-as-code scripts for security flaws and provide actionable feedback
- Hands-on expertise handling vulnerability management and incident response processes
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts including role-based access control, least privilege, single sign-on, and access reviews
- Understanding of the security implications associated with artificial intelligence systems
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities
Qualifications
- Possession of relevant professional certifications such as CISSP or an AWS security credential
- Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, CSPM, vulnerability scanning, or Identity Provider tooling
- Experience automating security tasks utilizing scripts or APIs
- Practical experience constructing or evaluating LLM-powered applications or agents
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Benchmarks, MITRE ATT&CK, or OWASP including the LLM Top 10
- Background in facilitating tabletop simulations or managing security incidents
