You will shape the security engineering roadmap, partner closely with product and platform teams, and integrate security controls into standard workflows. Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of two to three security engineers, conducting one-to-one sessions, performance reviews, and career development
  • Drive the security engineering roadmap by prioritizing tasks based on risk, business needs, and capacity
  • Maintain hands-on development by building security controls, automating tasks, and reviewing code across cloud infrastructure and applications
  • Partner with Product and Platform Engineering during early design phases to lead threat modelling and security reviews
  • Manage vulnerabilities by assessing business impact, agreeing on remediation priorities, and tracking issues to resolution
  • Enhance CI/CD and infrastructure as code security checks, including secret and dependency scanning
  • Contribute technical support to incident response investigations and apply lessons learned to improve preventive controls
  • Coordinate with Legal, IT, and Trust and Safety teams regarding policies, controls, and audit evidence

Requirements

  • Substantial hands-on security engineering experience operating production security capabilities in software or cloud settings
  • Prior management experience overseeing direct reports, including performance reviews and feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to own a security roadmap and coordinate implementation across engineering groups
  • Strong knowledge of application and cloud security principles, including identity access management, secrets management, and secure software development
  • Experience with threat modelling, vulnerability prioritisation, secure code reviews, and incident response
  • Proficiency in developing or automating with languages such as Ruby, Python, or Go, alongside backend code review capability

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, and Terraform or similar infrastructure tooling
  • Background in a marketplace, e-commerce, or software product business environment, including API and account security
  • Familiarity with securing AI-enabled applications, data pipelines, agents, or leveraging AI for security workflows
