Omatic is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team on a remote basis. In this full-time role, the individual will help maintain accurate and timely financial reporting as the organization expands. Responsibilities include managing core elements of the month-end close cycle, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting compliance, audits, and technical accounting functions specific to a SaaS company. The position also involves mentoring other team members, streamlining manual tasks, and collaborating with the Controller on system automation initiatives. This opportunity suits a detail-oriented professional with a hands-on approach who wants to contribute to building a scalable finance function within a private equity-backed business environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger to guarantee data integrity and accuracy across all entities
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations while resolving any discrepancies promptly
- Research and document technical accounting positions such as lease accounting and revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Assist with the annual financial statement audit by preparing schedules and answering auditor inquiries
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls suitable for a private equity-backed company
- Develop and implement process improvements to boost the speed and accuracy of the financial close
- Collaborate with the Controller on automation and ERP system initiatives
- Document accounting policies and procedures for a distributed team
- Mentor team members to build their technical abilities and advance their responsibilities
- Handle intake and prioritization for ad hoc analyses and requests directed to the accounting department
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience with direct ownership of month-end close tasks
- Solid understanding of US GAAP principles
- Practical experience utilizing accounting systems or ERP platforms along with advanced Excel capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to handle multiple deadlines independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to explain accounting concepts to non-finance partners
Qualifications
- Background in a subscription-based or SaaS company with familiarity in ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience working inside a small, remote-first finance team spanning reporting, close processes, and procedure building
