Job Description
Elevate and Delegate is recruiting a Senior Accountant for client accounting and tax work. The position is fully remote and follows a Monday-to-Friday schedule aligned with U.S. business hours. The firm is a boutique practice serving smaller and mid-market businesses with bookkeeping, tax work, fractional CFO help, and deal and transaction advice.
Each day, the accountant keeps several clients' books current, reconciles bank and card accounts every month, and helps wrap up each month's close. The work includes preparing and reviewing financial statements and general ledger detail, and tracking down and fixing discrepancies in client records. Deliverables must be accurate and submitted on schedule.
On the tax side, the accountant prepares and reviews individual and business returns, helps with tax planning and research, and gathers and organises client documents. During tax season the accountant works closely with the firm's CPA. The role also means communicating with clients, managing several engagements and deadlines at once, and serving as the day-to-day point of contact for accounting questions.
Over time the position takes on supervisory duties. The accountant reviews junior staff output, mentors them, and helps refine workflows, documentation and quality control. The job may develop into a leadership position as the firm grows.
Applicants should have five to seven or more years of public or client accounting experience. Hands-on work with Drake Tax, TaxDome and QuickBooks Online is required, along with solid bookkeeping fundamentals, experience preparing business or personal returns, and the ability to work without close supervision. A CPA or CPA candidate status, experience with a U.S. CPA firm, and experience supervising remote staff are preferred.
