The company is currently backed by VC firms and seeks a Senior Accountant to join its team on a remote basis with a preference for the US Eastern Time Zone.
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this full-time position helps scale internal finance functions by taking over daily accounting tasks currently handled by external providers. The ideal candidate will manage general ledger activities, month-end closing procedures, customer billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations while establishing structured and controlled financial workflows.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash application
- Create routine journal entries, prepaid expenses, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Contribute to the monthly close cycle by generating schedules and addressing accounting items
- Keep financial records updated within QuickBooks Online and associated platforms
- Track accounts receivable aging, assist with collections, and verify accurate cash posting
- Reconcile banking, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
- Collaborate with internal groups regarding vendor bills and expense coding
- Migrate recurring accounting tasks from external providers to the internal finance group
- Document accounting processes and refine recurring workflows
- Supply requested schedules and documentation for audits, tax filings, and compliance
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of progressive accounting background involving hands-on general ledger work and month-end closing
- Familiarity with US GAAP principles
- Practical experience executing reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash application
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
- Competency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Understanding of SaaS subscription billing, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition
- Possession of a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Availability to work core business hours in the Eastern Time Zone
