The company utilizes a delivery model that pairs internal oversight with outsourced development. To help establish its engineering foundations, M365Connect is seeking a Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer who can work remotely on a full-time, long-term basis. This position is suited for an experienced engineer who wants to take meaningful responsibility in a startup environment.
The person in this role will build applications across the frontend and backend, embed AI capabilities, and administer Linux infrastructure, databases, and deployment pipelines. Alongside hands-on coding, the senior engineer will coordinate external developers, review outsourced deliverables, and mentor team members. The working arrangement includes a time-tracking tool that captures screen activity, mouse clicks, and keystrokes. Initial compensation is aligned with the startup stage, with potential for salary growth and career progression into leadership positions as the company develops.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain web applications across both frontend and backend layers
- Construct AI-driven features, automated business workflows, and software integrations
- Utilize AI coding agents and assistants while applying human verification and testing
- Convert business objectives into actionable implementation tasks and acceptance criteria
- Configure application business logic, APIs, authorization, and authentication
- Handle database schema design, migrations, indexing, and recovery plans
- Administer Linux servers, network configurations, user permissions, and troubleshooting
- Deploy and manage Docker container environments with persistent storage and health checks
- Handle DNS configurations, domain routing, reverse proxies, and TLS certificates
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
- Execute software deployments with rollback procedures and post-release checks
- Investigate production errors and resolve root causes
- Supervise outsourced developers, define requirements, and check external work
- Provide mentorship and code reviews for other developers
Requirements
- Senior-level background in building and maintaining production web applications
- Proficiency in frontend development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern frameworks
- Experience in backend development, API creation, and secure data validation
- Practical background integrating AI or LLM features into software products
- Hands-on use of AI coding assistants or agentic workflows with verified outcomes
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, migrations, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with Linux administration and Docker container deployments
- Working knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, firewalls, TLS, and reverse proxies
- CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
- Proficiency in Git, code reviews, and release management
- Background in leading development teams and mentoring colleagues
- Experience collaborating with outsourced or distributed contractors
- Comfort with a remote setup that tracks screen activity, mouse clicks, and keyboard inputs
