D2L operates as a cloud company focused on transforming educational models globally through next-generation learning environments and solutions designed for schools, campuses, and enterprises. The organization is currently seeking a Senior Application Security Analyst to contribute to the delivery and refinement of its Application Security Program, maintaining a primary focus on applications, endpoints, and underlying infrastructure.
This remote position involves collaborating with operational teams to address existing and emerging security risks, carrying out regular security scans, and managing third-party assessments. The person in this role will act as a key contributor by triaging findings, supporting internal reviews and audits, and guiding stakeholders through remediation efforts.
The annual base salary for this full-time role ranges from CAD 140,000 to 175,000, determined by the chosen candidate's background, qualifications, and experience. Additional compensation components may include equity grants, variable incentives, and a wellness subsidy.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery and refinement of the enterprise Application Security Program focusing on infrastructure, endpoints, and applications
- Partner with operational teams to provide subject matter expertise regarding current and emerging security risks
- Conduct routine security scans and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve open items
- Review independent reports from vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure alignment with security standards
- Triage assessments from third parties and follow up with relevant stakeholders on findings
- Monitor and track security risks and related artifacts through their complete lifecycle
- Assist internal groups during security audits, reviews, and evaluations
- Engage stakeholders to remediate security findings
Requirements
- Ability to explain security controls and break down complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders
- Capacity to work independently and learn quickly by synthesizing information from various sources
- Skill in collaborating effectively across engineering and operational teams
- Practical programming background with proficiency in code review across multiple languages
- Hands-on experience implementing information security controls across endpoint, application, and infrastructure security such as SAST, DAST, and SCA
- Experience utilizing public cloud services including AWS or Azure
- Experience executing vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
- Experience working alongside teams implementing security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS, or PBMM
- Experience operating enterprise-grade governance, risk, and compliance tools
- Experience evaluating security control setups in serverless, web-scale, and large enterprise environments
- Experience providing security-related evidence to support audit exercises
Qualifications
- Possessing both Red Team and Blue Team experience is a strong plus
