Coins.ph is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for its payment platform in Manila on a full-time hybrid basis. The engineer designs and optimizes the core cross-border payment system, covering acquiring, clearing, settlement and risk control. The role includes designing safeguards against fund loss such as reconciliation, error handling and fund audit, connecting with international payment channels, and solving high-concurrency and data consistency problems alongside risk, finance and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build and optimize the core cross-border payment system end to end.
- Design safeguards against fund loss, including reconciliation, error handling and fund audits.
- Integrate international payment channels and handle compliance, exchange rate and settlement scenarios.
- Improve system performance, distributed transaction handling and data consistency.
Requirements
- Experience as lead developer and architect on a full payment system.
- Practical experience handling fund loss cases or designing solutions for them.
- At least 2 years developing and maintaining payment systems.
- At least 5 years of Java development and 2 years of architecture experience.
Qualifications
- Experience connecting to international payment channels is preferred.
- Clear communication and a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
