The company is currently hiring a remote Senior Backend Engineer, Platform Enablement to join its team on a full-time basis.
In this capacity, you will develop platforms, tools, guidance, and artificial intelligence-assisted workflows designed to help engineering teams detect performance risks during development prior to production deployment. Moving from a hands-on consulting approach to a self-service model, you will provide paved roads, documentation, and expert assistance so that service-owning teams can independently manage their performance tests, analytics, and thresholds.
This position suits a backend and platform engineer experienced in building internal systems and developer-facing tooling. You will collaborate across research and development asynchronously, turning early bespoke engagements into scalable, generalized capabilities that empower modular feature teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve reusable backend platforms and tooling dedicated to performance testing and analysis
- Create self-service workflows, documentation, templates, diagnostics, and artificial intelligence skills to minimize custom support
- Apply artificial intelligence practices across implementation, testing, debugging, and technical documentation
- Influence engineering groups to integrate performance testing into regular development and release preparation
- Transition early hands-on engagements into generalized capabilities for independent team adoption
- Provide technical expertise for difficult performance questions, tooling upgrades, and platform features
Requirements
- Experience building backend or platform software
- Experience developing internal platforms or developer-facing tooling
- Experience partnering with development teams to enhance everyday workflows
- Experience utilizing development practices that apply artificial intelligence throughout the software lifecycle
- Experience involving software performance such as analysis, optimization, benchmarking, or leading performance-related enhancements
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, k6, and cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience constructing durable solutions focused on broad adoption via systems thinking
- Clear written communication skills with the ability to influence teams without direct authority
