Job Description
OpenZeppelin, known for open-source smart contract libraries, is hiring a Senior Blockchain Security Developer for its Secure Development team. The role is fully remote and joins a 24-month engagement to build open-source DeFi foundations for the Canton Network, an institutional blockchain.
The developer takes features of the Daml library through design, build and audit. Examples include timelocks, access control, vaults and token standard support. Other work includes designing and implementing parts of reference implementations for a privacy-preserving DEX, a lending product, cross-chain stablecoin settlement and a confidential auction launchpad. The developer also carries Daml ports of Canton improvement proposals forward, liaises with Digital Asset and ChainSafe, presents designs to partners, and collaborates with internal researchers on threat modeling, audit readiness and fixes.
AI is a daily tool for the team. Developers are expected to create and share agents, skills and workflows, and to return developer experience and security findings to the people maintaining the Canton protocol and related tooling. The posting asks for production Daml fluency, a working understanding of Canton architecture, at least three years building smart contracts in production, and real DeFi experience. A security-first mindset, an AI-native workflow, fluent English and a high degree of autonomy are also required.
The hiring process has four interview stages: a recruiter call, a manager interview, a team interview and a leadership interview, followed by a paid technical work trial. The company aims to reach an offer about 30 days after the first call.
