Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to join its IRM squad, focusing on mobile application development within a fully remote global organization. As part of the mobile team, the chosen candidate will take full ownership of the Grafana mobile app, helping shape product roadmaps and driving features from initial idea to live production. The position involves designing reliable architectures, joining on-call rotations to maintain application health, and collaborating closely with frontend and backend colleagues. The ideal applicant brings a strong background in native mobile platforms and Flutter development, combined with an eagerness to learn distributed systems and operational monitoring tools.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to roadmap planning and personal career growth objectives
- Collaborate with teammates to create and iterate upon new product features
- Lead engineering projects from ideation through operational maintenance
- Design, build, operate, and maintain the Grafana mobile application while ensuring performance and reliability
- Participate in team on-call rotations and take responsibility for application availability
- Mentor colleagues, engage in design talks, and support team collaboration
- Contribute to wider open-source projects outside of direct team responsibilities
Requirements
- Proficiency with at least one native mobile platform, either Android or iOS
- Extensive background in creating production-ready Flutter applications including state management and asynchronous programming
- Demonstrated ability to independently take mobile features from conception to release
- Experience connecting mobile apps with cloud services and backend APIs
- Capability to write clean, maintainable, and performant code
- Strong communication skills and an independent attitude suited for remote work
Qualifications
- Prior usage of Grafana and Prometheus in operational or homelab settings
- Exposure to or willingness to learn microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Familiarity with SRE tasks, on-call operations, or infrastructure as code
- Previous experience maintaining or contributing to open-source software
