Job Description
UltraViolet Cyber is looking for a Senior Cloud Security and Compliance Engineer to act as a key technical authority on the Wiz platform. The role is full-time and remote for people based in the United States. The firm delivers managed and bespoke security operations to Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies, and commercial organizations. Its headquarters is in McLean, Virginia, with additional offices across the United States and India.
The engineer manages Wiz, authors custom policies as code, and automates controls mapped to FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53 across multi-cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and GCP. Python and Terraform are part of daily work. Duties include raising overall cloud security posture with scalable policy design, cutting false alarms so findings are more precise, producing reusable Terraform modules, and helping engineering groups address risk efficiently.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and must meet the regulatory requirements that apply to working in FedRAMP environments. Hands-on FedRAMP or NIST SP 800-53 experience is a plus rather than a must. The ideal person can assess how exploitable a vulnerability is and how far it could spread, can mentor other engineers, and can lead technical conversations. The posted salary is USD 120,000 to 170,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen the security posture of cloud environments through scalable, practical policy work
- Improve finding quality by cutting false positives and sharpening detection
- Create reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure patterns that are secure by default
- Help engineering teams fix risk quickly through automation and clear direction
- Support regulated cloud settings, FedRAMP included, with technical controls and ongoing monitoring
- Develop scalable security services across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Improve the organization's capacity to identify, understand, and fix cloud risk
Requirements
- Five years or more of practical experience in cloud security engineering
- Production work with Wiz or a comparable CNAPP, covering custom rules, policies, and integrations
- Python skills for scripting, automation, and API work, such as the Wiz GraphQL API or boto3
- Extensive AWS background together with solid experience in Azure or GCP
- Experience building reusable Terraform/HCL modules that are secure by default
- Policy-as-code work using OPA/Rego or a similar framework
- Capacity to triage findings, judge exploitability and blast radius, rank risk, and reduce false positives
- U.S. citizenship required
- Experience with other CNAPP tools (for example Prisma Cloud, Orca, Defender for Cloud, or Lacework) counts if you can show you can ramp up on Wiz quickly
Qualifications
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and FedRAMP frameworks, GovCloud or Impact Level setups, and turning control requirements into technical guardrails
- Kubernetes manifest work and securing containers
- Building security checks into CI/CD pipelines on GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Jenkins
- Helping with audits and ongoing monitoring programs
- Coaching engineers and guiding technical debates
- Credentials like AWS Certified Security Specialty, the Azure AZ-500 credential, Google's Professional Cloud Security Engineer credential, or the CCSP
