As the volume and complexity of public sector engagements grow, this attorney will own the contract, product, and compliance work driving that sector forward.
This position suits a seasoned legal professional who thrives in an autonomous environment and enjoys collaborating across technical, product, and sales teams. Responsibilities encompass steering customer growth through contract negotiations, guiding product development lifecycles, and ensuring regulatory compliance. While the primary focus centers on public sector agreements, the attorney will also assist with broader commercial legal matters when core public sector workloads decrease. Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex public sector agreements while ensuring adherence to the Federal Acquisition Regulation and agency rules
- Advise internal teams on product development, sales strategies, solicitation reviews, bid submissions, implementation, and ongoing compliance
- Partner with the commercial legal group to update templates, build playbooks, and enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate with legal operations to introduce automation and streamline processes
- Monitor policy and regulatory updates that influence business decisions
- Engage and direct external counsel regarding intricate legal questions
- Support general commercial legal tasks during periods of lower public sector workload
Requirements
- Accumulate at least seven years of legal experience
- Possess a minimum of three years advising on government contracting and associated compliance
- Demonstrate the ability to translate contractual duties into internal operating procedures and track adherence
- Demonstrate capability in handling rapid timelines, competing duties, and high contract volumes independently
- Show cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering, security, and sales departments
