Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including advertising sales, sponsorships, events, subscriptions, content licensing, vendor, technology, and strategic agreements
- Manage commercial legal intake, prioritization, workflow delegation, and the implementation of self-service templates and automation
- Advise business teams on product features, marketing initiatives, revenue opportunities, advertising, and day-to-day operational matters
- Provide practical guidance regarding data usage, privacy policies, data processing agreements, and intellectual property matters
- Handle routine commercial disputes and escalate high-risk concerns appropriately
- Supervise outside counsel and synthesize legal guidance into actionable recommendations
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and legal team initiatives while maintaining awareness of digital media legal trends
Requirements
- Possess six or more years of relevant legal experience, featuring substantial in-house commercial background
- Demonstrate experience advising on product, sales, marketing, advertising, sponsorships, and digital media matters
- Show strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities with a history of independently leading sophisticated commercial transactions
- Exhibit broad issue-spotting skills to evaluate risks beyond the contract
- Apply pragmatic risk assessment that balances legal protection with business agility
- Demonstrate the capacity to operate independently and communicate clearly with senior leaders
- Display AI aptitude and comfort utilizing AI-driven tools and workflows
Qualifications
- Prior law firm experience is considered a plus
- Background in digital media is strongly preferred
