Job Description
Opal Security is building modern identity governance for the AI era, offering intelligent access management that helps enterprises maintain security while moving quickly. The company is hiring a remote Senior Customer Success Engineer to serve as the primary technical owner for post-sale customer experiences. This role suits an experienced professional who enjoys working closely with code and products while partnering with Strategic Customer Success Managers to manage enterprise relationships.
In this position, you will act as the technical support lead for enterprise clients, managing tier 2 and tier 3 support requests, investigating misconfigurations, and driving technical adoption across applications and resources. You will guide clients through implementations from initial kickoff to go-live, handle identity provider setups, and configure integrations using APIs or Terraform. Additionally, you will draft public documentation, create support playbooks, automate repetitive tasks, and channel structured product feedback directly to engineering teams.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a background in customer-facing technical roles within security or identity SaaS who thrive in fast-paced early-stage environments. Candidates should possess deep familiarity with identity and access management concepts, cloud infrastructure, and implementation management.
Responsibilities
- Manage tier 2 and tier 3 support requests from ticketing systems and shared Slack channels for enterprise clients
- Investigate bugs and configuration issues first, providing engineering teams with clear reproduction details when necessary
- Drive technical adoption by assisting customers with rollouts to additional teams, applications, and resources
- Lead client implementations from the technical kickoff through go-live, covering SSO, SCIM provisioning, cloud integrations, and Terraform or API configuration
- Author public documentation, troubleshooting guides, runbooks, and sample code
- Establish the implementation and support playbook, including severity definitions, escalation routes, and checklists
- Configure tooling and automate repetitive operational workflows
- Log, prioritize, and test product bugs and gather structured feedback for the engineering and product teams
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as technical support engineer, solutions engineer, implementation consultant, or customer success engineer
- Familiarity with identity and access management principles including SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, SCIM, and identity providers like Okta or Entra ID
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP, alongside Terraform and Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience managing customer implementations from kickoff to go-live
- Proficiency with ticketing or support platforms such as Zendesk, Linear, or Jira
- Experience working in Series A through Series C startup environments
