The organization seeks a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to oversee cloud-based platforms and services hosted on AWS while helping shape the overall security strategy. This remote position operates within a distributed group across Europe and Asia, collaborating with backend engineers, iOS developers, designers, and quality assurance personnel to support real-time collaborative applications.
The role involves designing cloud security architectures, managing bug bounty programs, and coordinating with legal staff to enforce operational standards. Candidates with less experience may still be considered for a standard Security Engineer designation.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security architectures and strategies for AWS cloud environments
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and reports to detect and respond to potential threats
- Lead incident response activities and conduct root cause analysis to prevent future security events
- Collaborate with cross-functional development and deployment teams to embed security into applications
- Partner with the legal team to create and enforce secure cloud operation policies
- Provide expert guidance regarding AWS security features and services to internal groups
- Stay informed on emerging security trends, technologies, and threats
- Setup and manage bug bounty programs
Requirements
- More than five years of professional experience in a security engineering capacity focusing on AWS environments
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with security frameworks and standards such as SOC2 and ISO 27001
- Proficiency in writing Infrastructure as Code for AWS security services, including IAM, Security Groups, VPC, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and AWS Control Tower
- Capacity to spearhead new initiatives with a high degree of independence and accountability
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities
Qualifications
- Background working on real-time collaborative applications similar to Google Docs
- Hands-on experience reporting CVEs
- Security-related certifications such as AWS Security Specialist or GCP Security Specialist
