The organization seeks a Senior Data Analyst to join its Analytics team in a remote, full-time capacity. This individual contributor position sits between traditional business intelligence and data science, focusing on the maintenance, operationalization, and sustainability of analytical solutions. The role involves partnering closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional partners across underwriting, product, and account management.

Ideal candidates possess deep technical competence in handling large healthcare datasets and a strong background in analytical problem-solving. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to translate business priorities into sustainable analytical methods
  • Process and examine large healthcare datasets encompassing medical and pharmacy claims
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and analytical datasets
  • Design visual summaries and reports to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and limitations to guarantee repeatability and transparency
  • Support business units such as underwriting, product, account management, and cost containment with data-driven insights

Requirements

  • Possess five to eight or more years of experience in healthcare-based analytics, preferably within the health insurance or health benefits sector
  • Demonstrate extensive hands-on proficiency working with administrative medical and pharmacy claims data
  • Apply strong mathematical and statistical foundations, including quantitative reasoning, rates, and variability
  • Write and validate complex SQL queries
  • Utilize advanced data visualization tools like Tableau
  • Program with languages such as Python for data wrangling and analysis
  • Execute data cleaning, validation, and exploratory analysis on large datasets
  • Maintain legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytic field
  • Obtain a master's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Python
  • Analyze Salesforce data, stop loss insurance data, or healthcare vendor-reported utilization and savings figures
  • Understand underwriting and actuarial risk assessments for healthcare coverage
  • Be familiar with AWS serverless services and data tools including S3, Lambda, Glue, Sagemaker, and EMR
