This remote role operates on a weekend shift schedule, alternating every three months between a Tuesday-to-Saturday and a Sunday-to-Thursday rotation, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt data analytics assistance to lab operations groups to clear production roadblocks and accelerate turnaround times for patient results
- Apply statistical techniques to review intricate datasets, diagnose operational difficulties, and guide data-informed decisions
- Execute exploratory data analytics, spot trends, and partner with stakeholders to interpret discoveries and foster ongoing enhancement
- Build and deploy automated solutions for recurring analytical tasks and production workflows to boost scalability and efficiency
- Extract, alter, and review data to produce insights supporting production lab operations and business choices
- Record analytical procedures, methods, and insights to guarantee consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing
- Develop and refine solutions for retrieving data efficiently and ensuring scalable performance on large or intricate datasets
- Acquire operational efficiencies on new technologies designed by other data science production engineering teams
- Mentor and instruct junior staff members on novel technologies, protocols, and standard methodologies
- Partner with laboratory operations and product divisions to detect process flaws, assist with root cause investigations, and deliver product support
- Act as a representative for the data science production engineering unit during stakeholder discussions
- Escalate encountered challenges properly and effectively to other internal teams
Requirements
- Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Operational Research, or an aligned discipline
- At least three years of relevant industry experience
- Minimum of three years of practical background in data analysis, data extraction, and querying within production support capacities
- Proficiency in Python and SQL development
- Working familiarity with the Snowflake platform and cloud computing technologies
- Solid grasp of statistical principles including time series analysis, hypothesis testing, central limit theorem, regression modeling, and anomaly detection
Qualifications
- At least two years of background working in highly regulated environments such as CLIA or FDA compliant settings
- Familiarity with business processes and requirements of diagnostic laboratories
- Understanding of genomics, genetics, molecular biology, or bioinformatics
