The organization is currently hiring a Senior Data Engineer, Data Analytics to join the Data Platform team.
This position involves collaborating closely with hardware and robotics engineering groups to build, curate, and maintain robust datasets supporting analytics, debugging, and fleet-wide insights. Professionals in this role bridge raw robot telemetry with actionable intelligence by designing cloud ingestion pipelines, data transformations, and gold-layer datasets that drive performance metrics, reliability models, and executive dashboards. The work encompasses both on-device data generation and cloud-based processing infrastructure.
The role is fully remote with an optional hybrid schedule for candidates living near company offices located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Salem, Oregon, or Fremont, California. The anticipated annual base salary ranges from USD 175,000 to USD 274,000, supplemented by a comprehensive compensation and total rewards package.

- Strong expertise in distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark alongside programming capabilities in Scala, Java, or Python
- Familiarity with data orchestration platforms like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
- Working knowledge of structured numeric datasets and data formats including Parquet and Avro
- Understanding of medallion architecture and table formats like Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg
- Knowledge of data quality practices, schema evolution, and logical or physical dataset modeling for query efficiency
- Ability to work collaboratively across hardware, software, and analytics divisions
Qualifications
- Experience working with immutable dataset design and data versioning
- Familiarity handling and querying multimodal perception or vision data including point clouds, depth data, and RGB
- Knowledge of C++ and readiness to help build lightweight serialization or logging libraries
- Background utilizing metadata management and data catalog systems
