GitLab is seeking a Senior Director, Dedicated Infrastructure & Platforms to lead the engineering organization overseeing GitLab Dedicated, a single-tenant SaaS product tailored for regulated and public sector enterprise clients. In this executive capacity, you will direct managers and engineers handling everything from tenant orchestration, resilience, and incident response to switchboard APIs, public sector compliance, and enterprise customer migrations. The position requires scaling this offering toward ambitious growth objectives while maintaining high-availability standards, rigorous security measures, and enterprise-grade service level agreements within an isolated architecture.

Responsibilities
- Own the overall strategy and roadmap for GitLab Dedicated to ensure it scales with customer growth and aligns with cellular architecture
- Partner with product and executive leadership to hit growth targets focusing on reliability, faster onboarding, cost efficiency, and self-service administration
- Lead engineering teams responsible for tenant orchestration, integrations, resilience, incident response, the Switchboard control plane, public sector compliance, and migration tooling
- Maintain enterprise-grade service level agreements across all tenants and deliver government-focused infrastructure including AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP readiness, and air-gapped isolation
- Make customer migrations predictable and low-disruption by developing self-service tooling and guided workflows
- Hire, mentor, and scale distributed engineering managers while integrating practical AI-enabled workflows into team operations
- Collaborate with Product, Security, and Customer Support to align customer commitments, architecture, and investments
Requirements
- Experience leading engineering organizations that manage enterprise single or multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure and cloud platforms at scale
- Demonstrated success in improving production reliability, reducing operational toil, or lowering infrastructure costs on owned platforms
- Deep expertise in cloud-native and cellular architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and modular services scaling independently across cloud environments
- Experience operating enterprise offerings under strict compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud
- Background in driving organizational changes, including the adoption of AI-enabled workflows to boost engineering efficiencies
- Ability to translate financial targets into engineering investments, headcounts, and execution roadmaps
