Brex is currently seeking a Senior Director, Mid Market Sales to lead its Mid-Market organization. This second-line leadership role reports directly to the SVP of Sales and involves overseeing four frontline sales managers alongside approximately 20 Account Executives. The position suits an experienced sales leader who can combine strategic planning with hands-on coaching, developing exceptional talent and establishing repeatable operational systems.
The person in this position will be responsible for owning segment performance, driving pipeline generation, improving forecast accuracy, and guiding deal execution. The role requires partnering closely with various go-to-market functions, including Marketing, Revenue Operations, Enablement, and Product, to remove operational friction and scale success across the segment.
The role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week in the office—specifically Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday—located in San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle, with an option for up to four weeks of fully remote work per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop four frontline sales managers to hit Mid-Market new-business targets
- Define segment strategy and translate business goals into measurable manager expectations
- Hire, develop, and retain sales talent while maintaining high performance standards
- Build and scale operational cadences for outbound prospecting, pipeline inspection, deal reviews, and forecasting
- Analyze performance data to identify gaps and improve conversion rates and sales productivity
- Coach managers on qualification, competitive positioning, and complex deal execution
- Collaborate across go-to-market functions like Marketing, Sales Development, and Product to build pipeline and eliminate obstacles
Requirements
- At least 10 years of B2B sales experience with a record of hitting revenue targets in Mid-Market or upmarket settings
- Minimum of 3 years of second-line sales leadership experience managing managers with measurable results
- Demonstrated ability in building forecasting, pipeline management, and inspection systems
- Experience leading outbound-oriented sales teams and directing account prioritization
- Strong sales judgment with expertise in coaching teams on qualification and competitive selling
- Proven background in hiring, performance management, and leading organizations through growth or change
Qualifications
- Prior background in fintech or spend management
- Experience selling to finance buyers
- Familiarity with partner-led selling models
- Experience overseeing new business alongside post-sale operations
