Hypori, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer - Mobile Application to join its team on a remote basis. Backed by $55M in funding from notable investors, the high-growth cybersecurity SaaS company specializes in secure mobility platforms that allow users to access corporate data and applications on mobile devices without leaving endpoint data behind. In this role, the selected professional will collaborate within an agile environment to design, build, test, and troubleshoot Android application features for the Hypori Client app.
This position is well-suited for an experienced software developer who enjoys tackling complex problems within a small, collaborative team. Team members are expected to exercise critical thinking, maintain open communication, and take informed risks while delivering code through an evolving continuous integration and deployment pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard system integrity, user data, and intellectual property by complying with secure development policies and best practices
- Track and update project status using Jira and participate in daily standup meetings
- Translate product requirements into solutions informed by a deep understanding of Android internals
- Develop production-grade features for the Hypori Client application
- Expand application capabilities to leverage similar features present in the broader Android ecosystem
- Write unit tests and run test suites utilizing test automation frameworks
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of mobile application development experience on Android
- At least 3 years of experience leading mobile application development projects
- Advanced proficiency in Kotlin, incorporating coroutines and Flow
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose for declarative user interfaces
- Experience using Gradle with Kotlin DSL and working on multi-module Android projects
- Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks including Koin, Dagger, or Hilt
- Solid working knowledge of Java threading alongside Kotlin coroutines
- Proficiency in unidirectional data flow and MVVM design patterns
- Familiarity with core Android Jetpack components like Lifecycle, ViewModel, and DataStore
- Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and mocking libraries such as MockK
- Testing background involving cloud-based platforms like Amazon Web Services or Azure
- Working familiarity with Linux and Unix operating systems
- Strong proficiency in git version control

- Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform codebases

- Knowledge of the Android camera subsystem including CameraX and Camera2
- Familiarity with notifications like FCM and APNs
- Understanding of video encoders and decoders such as AV1, VP8/VP9, and H264/5
