Job Description

Aequilibrium is a Canadian technology consulting firm that assists financial institutions and credit unions with modernizing their services and improving member experiences through strategy, architecture, experience design, and engineering. The company is currently hiring a Senior Fiserv DNA Developer / Integration Consultant on an independent contractor basis.

This fully remote role is open to professionals based in Canada who possess direct experience in developing, integrating, testing, or supporting solutions connected to the Fiserv DNA core banking platform. The position suits experienced developers and integration consultants who can independently evaluate integration needs, understand banking concepts such as accounts and deposits, and deliver secure and tested solutions.

In this capacity, contractors will help financial institutions link their core banking functions with third-party services, digital banking platforms, lending systems, CRM tools, and payment processors. Selected individuals will translate banking requirements into technical designs, handle data mappings, implement robust error management and authentication, and collaborate closely with client teams, vendor specialists, architects, and quality assurance professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain integrations linking Fiserv DNA with external applications
  • Utilize DNA APIs and integration tools such as DNAconnect, DNA Core API transactions, or Communicator Open
  • Convert banking needs into technical specifications, data mappings, and interface designs
  • Manage authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, retries, and transaction reconciliation securely
  • Develop or modify DNAapps utilizing DNAcreator where appropriate
  • Build automated integration tests and aid in end-to-end, regression, and business acceptance testing
  • Troubleshoot integration challenges across middleware, connected systems, and the DNA platform
  • Assist with software releases, system upgrades, technical handovers, and production readiness
  • Maintain documentation regarding platform constraints, dependencies, and support procedures

Requirements

  • Hands-on development or integration experience with Fiserv DNA
  • Direct use of DNA APIs or integration interfaces with knowledge of specific tools and transactions used
  • Prior delivery or support of at least one DNA-related solution within a production financial services setting
  • Software development proficiency in the programming languages and frameworks relevant to past DNA engagements
  • Background in API integration, database queries, structured data formats, and cross-system troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with banking principles including customers, members, accounts, loans, deposits, and transactions
  • Competence in creating secure and reliable integrations for sensitive financial data
  • Effective communication skills for working alongside analysts, architects, vendors, and QA teams
  • Residency in Canada with the ability to provide services as an independent contractor

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Canadian credit unions
  • Background in DNAcreator, DNAapps, or Fiserv AppMarket development and validation
  • Exposure to multiple DNA versions, system upgrades, or core banking conversions
  • Integration background covering loan origination, digital banking, CRM, reporting, or payment platforms
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET, SQL, Oracle/PLSQL, CI/CD, cloud platforms, or middleware tied to previous DNA projects
  • Previous delivery background with Fiserv, a credit union, a systems integrator, or a core banking provider
