This role focuses on owning the reliability and quality standards for an AI copilot embedded within the trading platform. The successful candidate will design and build evaluation systems, develop benchmarks and golden sets, and establish automated quality gates to prevent regressions. Responsibilities include partnering with product and engineering teams to define safe tool actions, operating AI monitoring and incident response workflows, and acquiring a strong grasp of financial and trading concepts such as margin, shorting, and execution. This position suits professionals with extensive software engineering experience who can build testing frameworks, manage model improvement loops, and drive data-driven product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the reliability and quality bar for an AI copilot integrated into a trading platform utilized by sophisticated investors
- Design and build evaluation systems measuring correctness, safety, latency, and regression risk across market analysis, portfolio reasoning, and trading workflows
- Develop and maintain benchmarks, golden sets, scenario suites, and adversarial test cases
- Build automated quality gates and regression workflows to block releases when key metrics degrade
- Partner with engineering and product teams to define safe tool and action contracts, including deterministic previews and confirmations
- Manage model improvement loops tied to evaluations, including data collection, error taxonomy, prompting, and fine-tuning
- Design and operate monitoring and incident response procedures for AI systems
- Develop a deep understanding of trading concepts like margin, shorting, and portfolio risk to express them accurately to users
Requirements
- At least eight years of experience shipping production software with strong proficiency in any programming language
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, testing methodology, and systems design
- Experience building evaluation frameworks, test harnesses, and benchmark suites for complex systems like LLMs, agents, or search
- Experience running model improvement cycles including dataset curation, offline experimentation, and deploying changes with measurable impact
- Ability to define metrics, build measurement pipelines, and drive engineering and product decisions from data
- Comfort working across the stack to debug failures, instrument services, and partner with frontend and product teams
Qualifications
- Experience with fine-tuning, preference optimization, distillation, or prompt-compiler techniques for tool-use reliability
- Experience creating domain-specific benchmarks and adversarial suites for high-stakes applications
- Deep experience with trading across multiple asset classes and margin types
- Experience with Rust and performance-sensitive services
- Experience designing incident response and SLOs for machine learning and AI systems
