Candidly seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to spearhead the evolution, implementation, and architecture of cloud infrastructure supporting its AI-driven financial platform. In this position, the selected professional will steer the technical vision and scalability of systems spanning AWS and Azure environments. Key responsibilities include advancing Infrastructure as Code standards, enhancing software delivery life cycle automation, and directing incident management efforts. The ideal candidate exhibits strong autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and effective technical communication.
Applicants should possess substantial hands-on experience in cloud engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps, combined with deep knowledge of AWS tools, Linux administration, and container orchestration frameworks. Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure for AI and SaaS products.
- Drive the long-term architectural strategy and identify potential risks proactively.
- Establish and enforce best practices related to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Streamline software delivery processes by eliminating bottlenecks through traditional automation or AI-assisted tooling.
- Act as a subject matter expert concerning cloud architecture, observability, and containerization.
- Manage incident response procedures and conduct post-mortems focused on systemic prevention.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 or more years of practical background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
- Expert proficiency in AWS components including EC2, ELB, ASG, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CDK, and Route 53.
- Solid networking and Linux administration competence covering VPC peering, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and NAT.
- Extensive experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code for container orchestration through Docker, Kubernetes, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and tools such as Python, Bash, and Ansible.
- Demonstrated expertise with CI/CD platforms like GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline.
- Strong English communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to operate independently and remotely.
Qualifications
- Background within a high-growth, regulated financial technology sector scaling infrastructure under rapid transaction and user growth.
- Demonstrated technical leadership history focused on improving operational processes.
- AWS Professional-level certifications including Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures involving SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.
- Experience optimizing cloud costs and working with compliance frameworks such as SOC, NIST, ISO, CCPA, and GDPR.
- Familiarity with reproducible machine learning pipelines and tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, and Amazon SageMaker.
- Prior data engineering and large-scale data processing exposure.
