Airbnb is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join the App Experience and Frameworks team within the App Foundation organization. In this remote-eligible position, the selected professional will build unified application frameworks, feature foundations, and product solutions that empower developer teams across the company.
This role focuses on developing horizontal product elements such as app navigation, announcement schedulers, host required action frameworks, and event logging. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, demonstrates a bias for action, and possesses deep technical expertise in mobile application architecture. Responsibilities span the complete lifecycle of product creation, from early prototyping to high-scale production deployment, in coordination with cross-functional partners in product, design, and engineering.
The compensation for this full-time position ranges from USD 196,000 to USD 227,000 per year, with potential eligibility for bonuses, equity, benefits, and employee travel credits. Candidates must reside in a state where Airbnb maintains a registered legal entity.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design and product teams to prototype, develop, and ship mobile features and application-wide frameworks
- Convert initial prototypes into clean, scalable, and maintainable production code
- Partner with peer engineering groups to integrate new capabilities across various product areas
- Refine and optimize owned frameworks continuously based on feedback from developers
- Identify, troubleshoot, and fix bugs, accessibility hurdles, and globalization problems within the iOS application
Requirements
- Bring five or more years of experience building scalable production iOS applications
- Demonstrate expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
- Show a deep understanding of UI performance and client architecture

- Work independently to lead projects from inception to completion amidst ambiguous situations
