Raya is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer for its Places Client team. This remote, full-time role focuses on building and enhancing member-facing functionalities across the Places iOS application. The position suits an experienced developer who can take complete ownership of features spanning from architecture down to production execution. The Places Client team manages all mobile app surface areas, including onboarding, payments, core features, and new initiatives.
The engineer in this role will partner closely with backend, design, product, and data science teams to launch robust features and sustain codebase health. Responsibilities include solving complex client-side state and lifecycle challenges, refining interaction and motion details, and maintaining production health through monitoring and crash triage. The ideal candidate possesses a strong product sense and an established history of shipping consumer-facing mobile software to broad audiences.
Responsibilities
- Build and own core member-facing features from end to end
- Establish architectural patterns, best practices, and solutions for client-side lifecycle and state management problems
- Collaborate with server engineering on data correctness, API design, and client-server state synchronization
- Partner with product, design, and data science to scope, experiment with, and release features for members
- Focus on interaction, motion, and performance details
- Contribute to a large, long-lived iOS codebase by improving performance, testing practices, and technical debt management
- Maintain production health for core workflows through monitoring, crash triage, and release quality assurance
- Elevate the overall engineering standards via code reviews, mentorship, and written specifications
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional iOS development experience
- Strong proficiency in Swift, UIKit, and MVVM
- Extensive experience using RxSwift or similar reactive programming frameworks
- Demonstrated track record of delivering consumer mobile applications to large audiences
- Strong consumer product sense with high design standards and collaborative experience across product, design, and data functions
- Proven ability to lead projects from initial concept through launch while balancing speed and quality
- Regular use of AI coding tools in daily work along with an ability to help the team adopt them
Qualifications
- Experience with StoreKit 2, subscriptions, paywalls, pricing experiments, and subscription analytics
- Familiarity with Mapbox or complex map-based interfaces
- Experience working with SwiftUI alongside UIKit
- Familiarity with modularizing a large iOS codebase
- Background in backend development such as building APIs and services for mobile clients
- Experience utilizing Redux-style state management patterns
