Job Description
Inabia Software & Consulting Inc. is hiring a Senior macOS Cyber Security Engineer, Endpoint Security (C++/Swift) for a remote contract position operating during PST working hours. The selected contractor will support a client project involving Accenture and Amazon.
This role focuses on the macOS sensor for the CrowdStrike Falcon on-device security agent, which operates as a user-space System Extension to monitor file, process, network, and identity events, block malicious actions, and stream telemetry to the cloud. Because much of the codebase is shared across Windows and Linux, the position demands strict attention to reliability, performance, concurrency, and efficient CPU and memory management across both Apple Silicon and Intel hardware.
The role is suitable for engineers with six to ten years of relevant experience, or higher seniority, who specialize in macOS systems programming and security. Applicants must hold U.S. Citizenship or Green Card status.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the macOS sensor for CrowdStrike Falcon, an on-device security agent running as a user-space System Extension
- Monitor file, process, network, and identity activity while blocking malicious behavior and streaming telemetry to the cloud
- Handle high concurrency, high reliability, and optimize memory and CPU usage across Apple Silicon and Intel architectures
- Profile CPU and memory performance using Instruments and os_signpost
- Debug software using LLDB, crash logs, and os_log
Requirements
- 6-10 years of professional experience, with evaluation available for more senior candidates
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
- Availability to work during PST hours
- Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) and Swift 6, including async/await, actors, and strict concurrency checking
- Experience with Objective-C++ to bridge Swift, C++, and C APIs
- Knowledge of macOS systems programming including Foundation, CoreFoundation, GCD, pthreads, POSIX/BSD APIs, Mach IPC, launchd daemons and agents, and XPC
- Familiarity with XCTest, sanitizers, fuzzing, and xcodebuild-based CI
- Expertise in at least one core area such as process models and IPC, Endpoint Security and System Extensions, Network Extension, security and crypto, devices and storage, or packaging and deployment
Qualifications
- Experience building UI using SwiftUI and AppKit apps and app extensions
- Experience testing against macOS and Xcode betas prior to public release
- Background in shipping EDR, AV, network security, or device-management products
Benefits
- Hourly compensation ranging from $65 to $70 on a W-2 basis
