The company is currently hiring a Senior Manager, Contract Manufacturing to act as the primary operational connection between internal departments and external production facilities. In this role, the selected candidate will ensure that fresh recipes are manufactured efficiently, safely, and at scale while leading the search and onboarding for new co-manufacturing partners. This position suits an experienced supply chain or plant operations professional who excels at cross-functional collaboration and financial analysis. The job requires travel between 25 and 30 percent of the time for audits, plant visits, and partner onboarding initiatives, and it reports directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic relationships and daily activities at co-manufacturing locations, including contract negotiations, performance reviews, and process improvements
  • Align internal priorities across procurement, inventory, quality, and engineering with external plant operations
  • Monitor inventory levels and production capacity to match subscription growth and operational objectives
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to uphold food safety, regulatory compliance, and human-grade standards
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and onboard new contract manufacturing sites
  • Work alongside engineering leadership to improve technical throughput, optimize yields, and scale production lines
  • Supervise unit economics, pricing variances, vendor contracts, and standard costs to improve cost savings and efficiencies
  • Manage commercialization project scopes, timelines, and deliverables to ensure sourcing stays within budget
  • Establish and report on core manufacturing KPIs to encourage accountability and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional background in co-pack management, contract manufacturing, or plant operations within the food or pet food sector
  • Proven experience successfully identifying, negotiating terms with, and onboarding new manufacturing partners
  • Background in monitoring production planning, manufacturing capacity, and vendor performance against operational KPIs
  • Strong technical knowledge of food safety, human-grade food manufacturing processes, and HACCP
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, yield metrics, and supply planning
  • Willingness to travel 25 to 30 percent of the time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience working in pet food manufacturing
  • Background within a high-growth, fast-paced direct-to-consumer brand
