Job Description
MongoDB is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to join its Product and Technology division in Bengaluru. In this role, you will guide the technical direction and architecture for a new platform designed to help users build artificial intelligence applications utilizing MongoDB. You will lead and expand an engineering team focused on enhancing the scalability, reliability, and performance of distributed systems infrastructure. This position follows a hybrid working model based in Bengaluru.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to an engineering team
- Define and drive the architectural vision for the new AI platform across various cloud and on-premise environments
- Collaborate with product, program, design, and analytics groups to deliver user-facing features
- Plan and execute major product features while identifying delivery risks
- Manage the monitoring, maintenance, and operations of developed systems
- Remove technical bottlenecks and coordinate dependencies to support team efficiency
- Participate in organizational planning, resource allocation, hiring, and project assignments
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience building distributed systems or foundational cloud services at scale
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Rust
- At least 4 years of experience managing a team of six or more engineers
- Proven track record in hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing software engineering teams
- Experience working alongside remote teams
- Strong background in creating core components for high-scale compute, data processing, or distributed systems
- Demonstrated history of launching new features and maintaining them in production environments
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience working with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence frameworks and tools
