Job Description
Quince sells high-quality everyday essentials, including apparel, accessories and home goods, through a manufacturer-to-consumer model that cuts out layers of traditional retail to keep prices low. This full-time Senior Manager, Global Procurement (Materials) role answers to Head of Procurement. The posting does not state a work location or a salary.
The role is accountable for lowering material costs and securing supply. The manager builds cost structures for key raw materials, creates detailed costing models, and runs a competitive costing environment in which second- and third-tier suppliers are asked to offer transparent pricing. The role also watches commodity prices, exchange rates and supply threats, maps the upstream vendor base to consolidate volume, and runs RFPs with raw input suppliers, yarn makers, mills and tanneries. Success is measured by material costs close to should-cost estimates and below market indices, while keeping supply continuous and aligned with quality and sustainability goals.
Applicants should bring 12 to 15 years of experience buying raw inputs, managing commodities or running upstream supply operations, along with deep knowledge of textile and leather inputs and hands-on negotiating experience with mills and tanneries. Analytical and financial modelling strength, and comfort using AI-based tools for scenario analysis, are also important. A Bachelor's degree is required.
Responsibilities
- Set up a monitoring framework for global market shifts, raw material swings, currency risk and material trends, and report on it regularly
- Set up a real-time dashboard that follows major input costs, currency moves and supply hazards
- Prepare material-by-material clean-sheet cost models that set starting component prices before finished items are produced
- Support Tier 1 negotiations and buy plan margin reviews
- Chart the lower-tier supplier base (Tier 2 and Tier 3) and build a strategy that cuts complexity and secures capacity
- Consolidate upstream volume to increase direct-to-mill buying power
- Design and run RFPs for raw material vendors, spinners, mills and tanneries, from outreach to award
- Negotiate cost-reduction agreements with Tier 2 suppliers and build repeatable negotiation frameworks
- Find value beyond traditional sourcing, such as verticalisation and volume consolidation plays
Requirements
- 12 to 15 years buying raw inputs, trading commodities or managing upstream supply
- Solid knowledge of textile inputs such as yarns, fibres, fabrics and leather
- Hands-on negotiation with suppliers such as mills, tanneries and yarn spinners
- Familiarity with commodity hedging methods and global market indices
- Track record of building and using material-specific costing models
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills and comfort with large data sets
- Technical aptitude with AI-powered tools, such as large language models, for scenario analysis and automating procurement tasks
- Bachelor's degree
Qualifications
- Prior work designing or merging supplier networks further up the supply chain
- Worked alongside merchandising, sourcing and manufacturing groups
- MBA or other advanced degree
