Voltus is hiring a Senior Market Operations Analyst to oversee the operational performance of key energy markets. The company provides reliable, affordable, and clean energy solutions that power systems and protect ratepayers, while expanding its operations into MISO, PJM, and SPP regions.
This position requires a self-directed professional who can thrive in a fast-paced setting without rigid procedures or pre-existing playbooks. The ideal candidate will take absolute ownership of critical operational duties, independently set priorities, and act as a subject matter expert for internal teams.
Daily responsibilities involve managing market availability and offers, gathering interval data, calculating performance metrics, handling enrollment deadlines, and navigating complex operational decisions. The role also includes building out new product capabilities, automating workflows, and establishing robust processes for emerging programs.
Candidates must be capable of working from 8 AM Central Time and should expect occasional evening or weekend hours during busy periods or product rollouts. Responsibilities
- Manage the operational success of designated markets through direct execution, team coordination, or automation
- Account for availability, offers, interval data collection, performance calculations, and event deadlines without material errors
- Perform high-visibility analyses that directly influence market revenue and competitive positioning
- Design and develop new program capabilities, such as adapting OR/PR programs for batteries and launching initiatives in SPP
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for markets by advising Product, Engineering, and Sales teams
- Resolve ambiguous operational challenges and perform root cause investigations on incidents to create permanent fixes
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of experience personally owning business-critical outcomes within environments lacking standard process scaffolding
- Demonstrable Python skills applied to automating real operational workflows rather than just data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to convert complex, multifaceted situations into clear and actionable strategies
- Alignment with the corporate mission to accelerate the clean energy transition
- Capability to begin work by 8 AM Central Time
- Authorization to work from home within the United States or Canada, complying with company geographic and security limitations
- Ability to work full-time hours
