The company is currently hiring a Senior Network Development Engineer to oversee the reliability, accuracy, and coverage of platform resources such as device drivers, parsers, Runbooks, and Network Intents. This position is suited for professionals who combine core software development capabilities in Python with an understanding of computer networking principles.
In this capacity, the engineer will build and manage the validation frameworks, tools, and emulated network environments necessary to verify platform assets across various versions and vendors. Duties include analyzing coverage metrics, resolving complex customer-reported issues, engineering automated conformance checks, and collaborating with development and product teams. Qualified candidates should possess substantial software engineering experience paired with networking fundamentals and be prepared to take projects from initial design through release.
Responsibilities
- Design and create validation frameworks and automation infrastructure to test platform resources across different vendors and software versions
- Write code for verification engines, conformance checks, baseline tools, and day-to-day internal utilities
- Operate and construct simulated network environments utilizing emulated hardware, containerized topologies, and captured data
- Translate real-world network conditions into measurement coverage models
- Examine technology and device coverage matrices to find gaps and implement needed resources
- Test resource behavior through upgrades regarding compatibility, scale, and stability
- Troubleshoot complex issues reported by global enterprise clients and develop root cause fixes
- Monitor and report quality metrics to inform engineering choices
- Collaborate across departments to enhance resource architecture and authoring efficiency
- Research emerging technologies and AI-driven methods to expand coverage and validation efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
- 5 to 8 years of software development experience including building automation frameworks or developer tools
- Proficiency in Python programming with framework design experience
- Solid grounding in algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals
- Familiarity with REST APIs, structured data formats, data transformation, and parsing
- Experience using Git and CI/CD tools
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and device CLI output
- Capability to manage projects independently from design to release
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Advanced networking knowledge including MPLS, VXLAN, load balancing, and network security
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification or hands-on network engineering experience
- Experience with network emulation tools or automation libraries
- Background in building parsers or normalizing multi-vendor device data
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, SDN, SD-WAN, Docker, Kubernetes, and virtualized environments
- Experience utilizing web UI automation for verification
