Tether.io is hiring a Senior Node.js Software Engineer for Holepunch on a 100% remote, worldwide basis. This position is suited for a developer interested in building decentralized technology and managing a large ecosystem of public npm modules.
Tether creates financial and digital infrastructure solutions, ranging from stablecoin products and tokenization services to sustainable Bitcoin mining energy solutions, AI and peer-to-peer data sharing apps like KEET, and educational initiatives.
In this role, the engineer will work within a globally distributed team to build and sustain a peer-to-peer stack, as well as broaden an ecosystem featuring a modular codebase and over 1,500 public npm modules.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the peer-to-peer stack
- Expand the ecosystem and modular codebase containing over 1,500 public npm modules
Requirements
- Proven experience in Node.js development with production-scale applications
- Strong competency in writing modular and maintainable code
- Experience creating and managing reusable npm modules
- Solid skillset in testing and debugging
- Deep interest or experience with peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems
- Comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team with good communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience with native Node.js extensions in C/C++ or binding JavaScript to lower-level code
- Demonstrated ability to optimize network protocols or systems such as latency and throughput
- Familiarity with advanced networking concepts
- Past contributions to open-source software projects, especially in peer-to-peer or decentralized technology
