Job Description

Charger Logistics Inc. is seeking a remote Senior Okta Engineer to take direct, hands-on ownership of its identity and access management systems. The company operates as a global asset-based carrier with multiple facilities throughout North America and maintains more than twenty years of industry experience. This position focuses heavily on managing the enterprise Okta environment, overseeing single sign-on, lifecycle provisioning, governance, and privileged access for the workforce. In addition to traditional workforce identity tasks, the chosen engineer will spearhead initiatives to integrate AI agents, bots, and service accounts into the primary identity ecosystem alongside Microsoft Entra ID. This is a technical engineering role suited for professionals who prefer building and operating platforms directly rather than acting purely in an advisory capacity.

Candidates will collaborate closely with platform teams to bridge identity systems with Google Cloud IAM and maintain smooth hybrid operations. Responsibilities encompass establishing robust security standards for non-human identities, automating workflows through scripting languages, and producing clear technical documentation for internal development teams. The ideal professional brings extensive background managing identity architectures in fast-paced operational settings. Charger Logistics provides a competitive compensation structure, healthcare benefits, and opportunities for professional advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the complete Okta ecosystem covering single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, sign-on policies, Universal Directory, SCIM provisioning, Okta Identity Governance, and Okta Privileged Access
  • Develop and maintain application integrations using SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 while troubleshooting integration failures
  • Automate identity lifecycles utilizing Okta Workflows, Okta APIs, Python, or PowerShell
  • Maintain integration between Okta and Microsoft Entra ID within a hybrid architecture and connect identity systems to Google Cloud IAM
  • Implement Okta AI agent capabilities such as Agent SSO, Cross App Access, and agent lifecycle governance
  • Establish standards for service accounts and AI entities requiring one identity per workload, designated ownership, least-privilege access, and short-lived credentials
  • Construct credential vaulting and rotation mechanisms for machine secrets
  • Draft developer-facing guides explaining identity request and utilization procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in identity and access management
  • At least three years of dedicated, hands-on administration experience with Okta
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID in a hybrid environment
  • Practical understanding of SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 protocols
  • Hands-on experience with SCIM provisioning, identity governance, and privileged access management
  • Proficiency in Python or PowerShell scripting against identity APIs

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with AI agent identity frameworks including Okta for AI Agents, Microsoft Entra Agent ID, SPIFFE/SPIRE, or MCP authorization patterns
  • Possession of an Okta Certified Professional, Administrator, or Consultant credential
  • Experience utilizing Okta Workflows or Terraform for Okta
  • Background in managing service accounts, API keys, secrets, or workload identity
  • Experience with Google Cloud IAM or workload identity federation
  • Exposure to zero-trust access solutions like Zscaler, Cloudflare, or Tailscale
  • Background working in transportation, logistics, or other continuous operations environments
