Job Description
CookUnity connects customers with professional chefs, delivering fresh, ready-to-eat meals to homes across the country. The company reports roughly 50 million meals a year and is widening its model from delivery into a broader marketplace. This is a full-time, remote Senior Product Data Analyst role that helps product teams decide what to build using evidence.
The analyst is a partner to product, design, user research and engineering colleagues. Typical questions cover how people discover chefs, meals and cuisines, how chef supply and menu variety shape ordering, and where the path from first visit to habitual weekly ordering breaks down. The analyst owns measurement for a product area, converts uncertain questions into testable hypotheses, and advises whether to ship, refine or drop a change.
Experiments are central to the work. The analyst helps define success metrics, guardrails, sample sizes and control groups, then reviews outcomes across customer segments. Where randomized testing is not feasible, the analyst applies the most robust observational technique available and states its limits. Analysis also connects product changes to order frequency, attrition, revenue per customer, discounting and chef economics, while supporting dashboards and documentation that help teams monitor results.
The ideal candidate has roughly five to seven years in product analytics or an adjacent analytical role, strong SQL and experience with large behavioral datasets. Familiarity with funnel and cohort methods and proven skill in designing and reading experiments are expected, along with the ability to tell a persuasive data story and to use AI tools responsibly in analysis.
Responsibilities
- Examine how customers browse chefs, dishes, cuisines, diets and price points, and how selection and personalization affect ordering
- Map the path from acquisition to first order, early reorders and long-term retention
- Locate friction in onboarding, menu browsing, checkout and weekly ordering, using segments so weak experiences are not hidden by averages
- Work with Product and Engineering to frame hypotheses, decide key outcome measures, safety checks, sample sizes and holdout groups
- Estimate how changes influence order frequency, churn, revenue, discounts and chef engagement together
- Assess whether subscription, delivery, account and support changes resolve underlying customer problems
- Define and document metrics, cohorts and event tracking with Engineering and Data teams
- Build dashboards that let teams explore results and track outcomes after launch
- Shape the learning agenda and share analysis methods with other analysts
Requirements
- Around five to seven years of product analytics or a neighboring analytical role, including owning complex analyses
- Strong SQL and hands-on work with large, intricate behavioral data
- Fluency with product metrics, funnels, cohorts, segmentation and marketplace or subscription mechanics
- Experience designing and reading controlled experiments, including holdouts, guardrails and uncertainty estimates
- Practical use of AI tools for analysis and coding, handled responsibly with company and customer data
- Skill at turning a vague product challenge into a focused plan and a clear recommendation
- Dashboard building that supports trustworthy self-service analysis
- Capacity to judge AI-enabled product features with clear metrics and quality reviews
Qualifications
- Equivalent experience with clear impact is also considered
- Enthusiasm for food, chefs and the operational realities of a local marketplace
