Pawlicy Advisor is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their team in a remote capacity within the United States. Operating as a profitable venture-backed startup, the organization connects pet owners with financial protection options and operates a trusted pet insurance marketplace distributed across numerous veterinary practices nationwide. In this high-ownership position reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, the professional will manage the design lifecycle end-to-end, including research, wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, and maintaining the design system.
This opportunity is ideal for autonomous practitioners who thrive in fast-paced environments, relish craft ownership, and prefer operating one to two sprints ahead of engineering teams. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, marketing design, and legal teams to shape user experiences that simplify pet insurance terminology and streamline the quote-to-sale journey.
Pawlicy Advisor maintains a team of approximately 20 employees and expects growth to 25 or 30 members by 2027. The compensation package includes an annual base salary ranging from USD 165,000 to 200,000, alongside startup equity grants and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Produce wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and design iterations for new features and website experiments
- Gather feedback from internal stakeholders and resolve conflicting input regarding product features
- Build and manage the design system alongside the senior marketing designer
- Perform design quality assurance by reviewing shipped work against designs prior to release
- Draft initial UX copy for quote flows, plan explanations, and error states
- Ensure compliance and legal reviews are completed for all insurance-related terminology
- Conduct deep competitive analysis of the pet insurance and broader marketplace landscape
- Facilitate user testing sessions with pet parents and veterinary staff to inform product ideas
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of product design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking from research and strategy through shipped UI
- Experience owning or significantly contributing to a design system
- Strong UX writing skills to draft clear and plain-language product copy
- Demonstrated experience independently running user research and competitive analysis
- Ability to collaborate across functions with engineers, marketers, and business stakeholders
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and based in the USA
