Job Description

CapIntel operates a software platform designed for wealth management enterprises, enabling financial advisors to present complex investment strategies clearly to clients. The organization has experienced rapid growth since its launch in 2019 and earned recognition in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Canada and Fast 500 North America in 2025. To support this ongoing expansion, the company is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join its remote team.

In this position, you will take ownership of a dedicated product area spanning multiple releases, tackling ambiguous challenges, and guiding solutions from concept to reality. The role suits an experienced designer who enjoys building functional prototypes using code or artificial intelligence tools, working with dense data and regulated environments, and collaborating openly with product and engineering teams. You will be expected to establish quality standards, run targeted research, and make difficult recommendations to leadership.

The position is remote and operates on a full-time employment basis. Compensation includes a structured pay approach, with the expected base salary range for candidates based in or eligible to work from Ontario listed between $125,000 and $148,000 CAD. Additional total rewards may feature variable pay, equity, comprehensive benefits, flexible time off, and professional development opportunities, depending on the specifics of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a specific product area across multiple releases and contribute to shared system components, prototypes, or team tooling
  • Construct working prototypes utilizing real components and data to align product and engineering groups prior to commitment
  • Determine which research to execute, synthesize the findings, and make strategic decisions based on the data
  • Establish metrics before building and pivot quickly if the measurements do not shift as expected
  • Define quality standards for your area, ensuring adherence to error states, responsiveness, and WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility guidelines
  • Present contested recommendations and strategic options to senior stakeholders to secure formal decisions
  • Mentor team members, conduct design reviews, and elevate the overall standard of work

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience owning a product area across multiple releases supported by a comprehensive portfolio
  • Strong proficiency across both user experience and visual design, coupled with a specialized area of elite expertise
  • Ability to build functional prototypes using artificial intelligence tools or code
  • Familiarity with complex design environments involving dense data, permissions, and regulatory constraints
  • Capacity to engage in public debate and update perspectives when presented with new evidence

Qualifications

  • Prior professional background in fintech, wealth management, or other regulated domains
  • Experience launching products from zero to one rather than strictly iterating on existing features
  • History of building design systems or substantial portions thereof
  • Background in front-end development or previous work as a design engineer

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $125,000 to $148,000 CAD for candidates based in or eligible to work from Ontario
  • Variable pay and equity eligibility depending on the position
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible time off
  • Dedicated opportunities for professional growth and development
