Moniepoint Group is looking for a Senior Product Designer with a focus on design systems to join its remote team. Moniepoint Inc. operates as a comprehensive financial platform in Africa, providing digital payments, banking, credit, cross-border services, and business management tools to over 20 million customers and businesses. As Nigeria's largest merchant acquirer, the company processes more than $250 billion in digital payment transactions annually. This position suits an experienced design professional who can shape financial products, build scalable UI components, and contribute to the evolution of the internal design system.
In this position, the selected individual will take charge of the end-to-end design lifecycle, bridging user requirements with business goals. The role requires partnering closely with software engineers and product managers to guarantee smooth design execution while championing accessibility standards. Furthermore, the role involves guiding and mentoring junior team members, conducting advanced user research, and utilizing data analytics to refine digital experiences across web and mobile platforms.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and drive design strategies that support company objectives and user needs
- Manage the entire design workflow from initial discovery and research to wireframing, prototyping, and user interface delivery
- Perform advanced user research, usability evaluations, and A/B experiments
- Collaborate directly with product managers and engineers for accurate implementation
- Build scalable user interface components and contribute to the ongoing development of the design system
- Promote accessibility and inclusive design standards for a diverse user base
- Develop and polish micro-interactions and motion elements to boost user engagement
- Apply data-driven insights to elevate user experience and optimize business metrics
- Coach and support junior design staff to foster innovation and excellence
- Monitor fintech developments and industry practices to inform product innovation
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in a senior product design capacity with a strong emphasis on user experience
- Mastery of typography, visual design, layout, grids, and color theory
- Expertise in user flows, information architecture, and interaction design
- Solid understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles for web and mobile platforms
- Familiarity with behavioural psychology concepts and their effect on user decision-making
- Extensive background in heuristic evaluations, user interviews, and usability testing
- Ability to turn qualitative and quantitative data into actionable design choices
- Experience with user experience analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Hotjar
- Proficiency in atomic design concepts and the creation of scalable user interface frameworks
- Strong command of motion design applications including Lottie, Principle, and After Effects
- Expertise in stakeholder management and articulating design reasoning across teams
- Familiarity with fast-paced, agile product development environments
- Advanced proficiency in Figma tools like auto layout, component variants, design tokens, interactive prototypes, and scalable design libraries
- Demonstrated background working in SaaS or fintech sectors
