Tellent HR is seeking a Senior Product Engineer (AI) for a remote role to join its Intelligence team, which builds artificial intelligence capabilities across the company's talent management suite. Tellent HR provides an all-in-one platform combining applicant tracking, human resources information systems, and performance management software used by over 7,000 customers globally.
In this position, the engineer will transform high-level artificial intelligence concepts into reliable, user-facing features. The role focuses primarily on backend development while occasionally touching the frontend, involving end-to-end ownership from initial shaping to release and evaluation. During the first year, the professional will integrate into the architecture, take charge of platform features, and mentor colleagues through collaboration and pair programming.

Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate artificial intelligence features into established software products with active users
- Handle backend tasks primarily, with the flexibility to work across the stack when required
- Manage features from conception through building, shipping, and performance evaluation
- Ensure delivered features maintain high standards for testing and maintainability
- Partner closely with frontend and backend engineers, designers, quality assurance, and DevOps teams
Requirements
- Commercial experience with Elixir, or extensive backend development background in Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or PHP alongside a strong desire to learn Elixir
- Familiarity with TypeScript and Mastra, or a strong willingness to learn the Mastra AI TypeScript framework
- Senior-level judgment regarding software shipping and quality trade-offs
- Product thinking skills including specification evaluation and prototyping
- Fluent English communication skills

- Hands-on experience with large language models or feature experimentation
