Job Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Senior Product Manager role in London with the Retail Categories team. The job is about designing and building distinct shopping experiences across Deliveroo's expanding set of retail categories. The posting contends that a single generic shopping flow cannot serve the very different ways people buy clothing, car parts or home improvement goods.
The product manager owns the full shopping experience for a defined group of categories. That covers setting category strategy and deciding which categories receive investment first. It also means translating each category's promise into product experiments that can be tested, such as personal-shopper features that use doorstep returns for apparel, or lookups that match car parts to a particular vehicle. The manager also owns category merchandising and storefront pages that make each vertical stand out while keeping Retail as a whole coherent.
Much of the work relies on shared platform capabilities, such as doorstep returns and fulfilment, so teams can build category experiences without reconstructing core infrastructure. The role requires close collaboration with BD and Sales teams plus Catalog and Search colleagues groups, so that pages draw on accurate data and fit existing merchant relationships. Outcomes are judged through data, customer insight and experiments, with attention to conversion and repeat purchases.
The ideal candidate has managed consumer-facing products, preferably in online retail, marketplaces or multi-sided platforms, and has launched new or highly distinctive shopping experiences from an unclear starting point. Analytical strength, experience working with engineering, design, analytics and commercial teams, and an instinct for how customers behave are required. Knowledge of merchandising, category management or product detail pages is helpful.
