Holycode is hiring a remote Senior QA Automation Engineer for a full-time engagement with a Swiss client in the alternative investment sector. The client builds an alternative investments platform consisting of an investor web portal, an admin panel, and mobile apps for iOS and Android. This independent, individual contributor position sits within a compact product team where the professional will take complete charge of creating end-to-end automation from scratch and setting up quality assurance methodologies across the entire delivery lifecycle. The primary focus centers on web and API automation, while manual mobile and exploratory testing make up roughly one-third of the duties. Candidates will interact closely with developers from the client organization and an external mobile development partner, utilizing approved artificial intelligence assistants to enhance test generation and failure analysis workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain an end-to-end automation framework for the investor portal and admin panel
- Select and recommend a browser automation framework based on platform requirements
- Create API and contract tests incorporating backwards-compatibility checks for existing mobile versions
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure ongoing stability and reliability
- Insert stable test identifiers into the React frontend via reviewed pull requests
- Conduct exploratory testing on web applications alongside manual regression testing on physical iOS and Android devices
- Establish testing strategies, bug-reporting protocols, regression checklists, and release-readiness standards
- Leverage approved AI-assisted tools to support test creation and failure analysis workflows
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional background in QA automation
- At least 3 years of experience owning a browser-based E2E suite from initial setup to CI execution
- Practical expertise with a modern browser automation framework such as Playwright or Cypress
- Working proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
- Ability to read a Django codebase and understand API behavior using Python knowledge
- Background in API testing, OpenAPI schemas, and backwards-compatibility validation
- Hands-on experience configuring and working with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience performing manual testing on real iOS and Android mobile devices
- Skill in exploratory testing and documenting clear, reproducible bug reports
- Practical experience evaluating and using AI-assisted development or testing tools
- Proactive mindset with strong autonomy and independent prioritization skills
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
Qualifications
- Background in fintech, financial services, KYC/AML, or investment platforms
- Familiarity with React and frontend test instrumentation
- Experience with consumer-driven contract testing
- Mobile automation background using tools like Appium, Detox, or Maestro
