CSC Generation is hiring a Senior QA Engineer, AI & Automation for a remote position covering the US, Canada, or Costa Rica. This role reports to the Senior Retail Technology Architect and focuses on building scalable test automation suites, utilizing artificial intelligence coding assistants, and integrating automated quality gates into continuous delivery pipelines. Ideal candidates are builders who want to shape software quality across web, API, and mobile platforms while helping define evaluation standards for non-deterministic AI-powered features.
The position requires close collaboration with engineering teams to minimize manual regression, mentor team members, and drive down test flakiness. Applicants must be prepared for a multi-step interview process that includes a recruiter screening, a hiring manager conversation, a technical discussion, and a mandatory in-person meeting in Salt Lake City prior to an employment offer. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks utilizing Playwright for web, API, and mobile platforms
- Leverage AI coding agents and assistants to generate test plans, test cases, data, and page objects from requirements and Jira stories
- Review, harden, and validate all AI-created test code before merging to guarantee suite correctness
- Implement robust locator strategies and automated triage to reduce test flakiness and maintenance overhead
- Embed automated quality gates into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
- Perform functional, regression, API, and performance testing with tools like Postman, JMeter, or k6
- Conduct exploratory testing on new features and UI/UX changes to uncover edge cases
- Convert escaped defects into automated regression checks to strengthen coverage with every release
- Collaborate with developers on early testing integration, API contracts, and AI-assisted code reviews
- Establish evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic AI features like search and recommendations
- Track and report critical quality metrics including flake rates, cycle times, and automation coverage
- Mentor quality assurance personnel on automation standards and responsible AI testing workflows
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in quality assurance and testing
- Minimum of three years building and sustaining test automation operating within CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on background with Playwright for end-to-end web and API automation
- Solid automation design skills to construct and maintain reliable, scalable test suites
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python
- Regular, practical usage of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions
- Background in functional, regression, API, and performance testing
- Strong exploratory testing capabilities and risk-based test strategy formulation
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, and TestRail for defect lifecycle management
Qualifications
- Prior e-commerce QA automation experience in fast-shipping CI/CD environments
- Experience building or adopting agentic testing tools, self-healing tests, or LLM failure triage workflows
- Background testing machine learning or AI-powered capabilities such as recommendations and search
- Familiarity with cloud device grids like BrowserStack
- Experience using infrastructure and observability tools like GCP or Grafana
