Senior QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

Salla is hiring a Senior QA Engineer for a full-time, remote position responsible for quality across its product platform. The person owns release readiness and makes the final call on whether a release can go out, weighing risk and test evidence. The job includes setting up the QA strategy, standards, tooling and workflows for the product and its teams, and scaling test effort to the situation, whether that is a rushed fix or a major launch.

The role combines manual and automated testing. Early involvement includes reviewing requirements and design proposals, carrying out exploratory and manual checks that uncover unusual user behaviour and interface issues such as layout, states and responsiveness, and creating Playwright suites in TypeScript or JavaScript that run in continuous integration. The engineer examines code and pull requests critically, and chooses which checks remain manual and which become automated.

Defects are not merely logged. The engineer triages issues and digs into root causes with browser developer tools, examining network traffic, console output, performance and storage. Patterns behind repeated bugs are identified so that tests, checks or process updates can prevent them. Risks are reported with a clear recommendation for developers, product owners and leaders. The engineer mentors other QA staff, applies AI tools to accelerate test design and analysis, and verifies that the results hold up.

Candidates need five or more years in QA with genuine responsibility for releases and quality calls, balanced experience across manual and automated methods, and solid JavaScript and TypeScript skills. Playwright experience is required, or a comparable framework with the willingness to master Playwright. Familiarity with Git and GitHub, including pull requests and CI pipelines, and testing of web, mobile and API products is expected. A preventive outlook, with examples of fixing underlying causes, completes the picture.
